Moulding and Trim Millwork by Bild Renovations Experts

Wainscoting

  • Traditional wainscoting is decorative wood panelling along the lower wall that protects the wall from scuffs. The height of traditional wainscoting is usually 36 to 42 inches. The chair rail goes at the top and baseboard is at the bottom. This formal look suits living rooms, dining rooms, and other spaces where guests gather. White raised paneling lends depth to this dining room while maintaining its crisp, clean aura.

Shiplap

Shiplap

  • Most shiplap cladding is made from high density softwood, which has been slow grown and kiln-dried offering stability and strength. Shiplap is a style of wall siding characterized by long planks. In interior design, it's customarily painted white and mounted horizontally, but shiplap can be any color and mounted vertically, as well. The planks are placed to leave a tiny gap between each plank to mirror the look of exterior shiplap.

Board and Batten

Board and Batten

  • Board and batten is a type of wood paneling that uses wide boards that are nailed side by side, often vertically. And there is a narrow strip of wood, called a “batten,” that is fastened over the seams between wood boards that adds 3-dimensionality and character to the siding. This adds a lot of depth, severity, and drama to a room.

Baseboard and quarter round

Baseboard and Quarter round

  • If your current design is traditional, farmhouse, industrial, or craftsman – go for simple, flat, and angular baseboards. If your home's design is more bohemian, colonial, or shabby chic – opt for ornate curves. For new traditional, use curves and bevels to make an impact.
